• Clipchamp 🌐 - Online video editor from Microsoft. Lots of free features.

• CapCut 🌐💾 - Another online editor (that also has a software download version as well).  There are pro features, but most seem to be available for free.

• Cam-Recorder 🌐 - A simple online video recorder and downloader. Great for simple videos.

• Loom 💾 - Chrome extension for recording screen and/or webcam (no limit)

• Screencastify 💾-  Chrome extension (10 minute limit)

• DaVinci Resolve 💾 - Very advanced video editor with a big online community.  Free version is good enough for almost everyone.  Definitely a recommendation for serious editors.

• OBS 💾 - Really popular screen recording software.

Hardware to consider

• • DSLR (or mirrorless) Cameras - Newer cameras can work well for photo and video recording.

  • USB Webcam - Can also be helpful if streaming/recording at the computer.

  • Tripod, Dolly, or Gimbal - For handling the camera or getting great shots.

  • Microphones - Lapel microphone or USB depending on need. Depends on if you want to record straight to the camera or later. Portable recorders can also be helpful to record multiple channels in the field. Some have microphones or let you plug other mics into them. 

Great for: Photography and photo editing, other graphics editing, and graphics design.

  • Adobe Creative Suite (subscription based) or Affinity Suite (one-time purchase) 💾 - Editing suites for more serious creators, when the free sites/tools are not enough.

  • Lenses - They say you spend most money on your lenses. Having good zoom lenses or lenses with a low f-stop (for indoors) can be great for most cases.
